The BPC-ERK12 workshop will be held at the ICRA-08 conference on May 20, 2008 in Pasadena, California, USA.
SUBMISSION DATE EXTENDED TO FEB 15!!!
We are now also accepting submissions that discuss use of educational robotics
in Undergraduate education.
This full-day workshop is designed to unite researchers who are interested in using robotics in K-12 education to help broaden participation in computing fields, nationwide and beyond. Through the NSF's Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) program, many US universities are currently using robotics, in a wide variety of exciting and innovative ways, at the K-12 level. Internationally, many other countries have also been including robotics-based curriculum in primary and secondary schools for a number of years. The goal of this workshop is to bring these groups together with each other and with non-BPC teams in order to share ideas, experiences and lessons learned. Topics of particular interest include: overcoming practical obstacles, coping with K-12 curriculum standards, and evaluation and assessment. Demonstrations are encouraged. Local K-12 teachers are invited to attend. |
